HSG Hossingen-Meßstetten is off to a brilliant start in the association league!

HSG Hossingen-Meßstetten is in the starting blocks for its first season in the association league. After a successful promotion, crowned by two decisive victories in the relegation against HSG Mimmenhausen/Mühlhofen, the team is excited about the first game. This will take place on Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Bächlenhalle against VfL Nagold. The Nagolders had already suffered a defeat against HSG Baar on the first matchday, so the self-confidence of the Hossingen-Meßstetten team could possibly take the competition by surprise. Schwarzwälder Bote reports that the team starts the season with the aim of quickly acclimatizing and collecting their first points.

The preparation for this new challenge was turbulent but instructive. The team played six test matches, winning three and losing three. Coach André Röthlingshofer was satisfied, especially that the team was fully available at the end of the preparation phase. The focus of the preparation was on defensive work as well as the tied game and the standing attack, where over 30 goals were scored several times. However, defense remains an area that needs improvement. Squad planning presented those responsible with challenges, as there were seven departures and just as many new arrivals compared to the previous season.

Strong youth work promotes talent

The positive news doesn't end there. The youth work of the HSG Hossingen-Meßstetten is remarkable. The female C youth team in particular managed to qualify for the Württemberg Oberliga through strong performances at the qualifying match day in Metzingen. In an exciting first game, the team quickly took the lead and was able to extend their lead to a 22:11 win against JSG Neckar-Kocher. The second match against SG Alfdorf/Lorch/Waldhausen also showed the enormous potential of the young team: Here the team celebrated a clear 27:8 success.

Coach Andreas Wendel is proud of the development and solidarity of his players and emphasizes the strength of the defense. The players Jule Weber, Nele Mebold and Laura Walter as well as other talents will continue to be integrated and bring a breath of fresh air to the HSG. These solid foundations in youth work are important, especially since many of the new faces in the women's area come from our own youth team. The HSG Hossingen-Meßstetten website impressively highlights these positive developments.
