Complete closure of the K7409 between Hütten and Schmiechen from August 25th!
Traffic around County Road 7409 will be significantly impacted starting Monday, August 25th. As the Swabian reported, the route between Hütten and Schmiechen will probably be completely closed for six to eight weeks. The reason for this is necessary renovation work commissioned by the district office of the Alb-Donau district. The work will be carried out in two construction phases to restore safety and driving quality on this important traffic axis.
At the beginning, the section between Hütten and Teuringshofen, which also includes the through town route, will be renovated. The route is then cleaned up to the level crossing just before Schmiechen. Residents can still access their properties from one side while intercity traffic is rerouted. The recommended diversion routes lead via the towns of Hütten, Justingen and Schelklingen.
Traffic disruptions and diversions
How FFH reports, it is not just this construction site that is causing traffic delays. Current traffic jam developments, accidents and other construction sites in the region are subject to constant monitoring, which can further influence such diversions. Nils Grunwald, traffic jam pilot at FFH, examines the local traffic situation every day and passes on important traffic information that is also important for national traffic.
The focus is not only on the main roads, but also on local bypasses, which are evaluated in real time. Drivers should therefore inform themselves before their journey and possibly consider alternative routes in order to avoid wasting time. If you want the latest information about traffic jams and diversions, you can find useful tips and current traffic reports on the FFH website. For example, disabilities in local public transport, the consequences for school operations or other relevant traffic information are provided there.
A healthy mobility approach for the future
With regard to the development of transport infrastructure, the CONVENTION important initiatives have been launched that will also be relevant for future projects. A central point is the revision of the federal transport infrastructure and mobility plan until 2040, which aims to develop a sustainable and integrated mobility concept. The aim is to ensure that all modes of transport are harmoniously integrated, from pedestrians and cyclists to public transport and freight transport.
The revision is intended not only to adapt the existing planning approach, but also to ensure that new criteria and goals for mobility development are set. This includes, among other things, the creation of synergies, the development of requirements plans for infrastructure projects and continuous evaluation. This is the only way to adequately address relevant social requirements and pressing problems, such as the changes brought about by electric vehicles.
In the coming weeks, the traffic volume in and around Hütten and Schmiechen will have to be monitored particularly closely. The renovation work is a step in the right direction to improve the infrastructure for all road users and make it sustainable.
