City cycling 2025: Altötting's BGM remains with controversial rules!
In Altötting, the popular city cycling 2025 is just around the corner and is causing some discussion among the population. After last year's experiences, which were not without criticism, expectations are high. The city cycling, which is intended to promote participation in environmentally friendly mobility, did not spark enthusiasm among all participants in the last edition. Mayor Stephan Antwerp confirmed at a recent city council meeting that the criteria for dividing groups and determining winners will be used again, causing some discontent. At this meeting, Konrad Heuwieser from the Free Voters asked a legitimate question about the points lost last year and whether these complications can be avoided this time. It remains to be seen how the population will react to these requirements.
Confusion about eligibility requirements
Criticism came in particular to the procedures for dividing the groups. The uncertainty led to some cyclists not even taking part. Concerns about the fairness of the criteria still hang in the air and the city could do well to present a clearer roadmap to invite all citizens to actively participate. Because the more there are, the more fun it is and the chance of cycling more kilometers for a good cause!
However, those responsible have already thought about a lot for this year. Registration for municipalities is already underway, although it may take some time for registrations to be activated. According to the Stadtradeln homepage, several hundred registrations cannot be processed immediately in the first few weeks. After activation, the cities receive an email and only then can cycling citizens register for their municipality. It is therefore advisable to be patient and not to ask any questions about the processing status, says the team City cycling clarified.

With a good hand in planning and active participation, Altötting hopes that city cycling will run smoothly this year and that many citizens will pedal to do their part. Because there are not only points to be won when cycling, but also a lot of fun and a sense of community!
