Stefan Kroher: Unanimous nomination as district administrator for Amberg-Sulzbach!
The nomination meeting of the FREIEN WÄHLER Amberg-Sulzbach took place in a festive setting on September 26, 2025 in the Roter Hahn inn in Schlicht. Here Stefan Kroher was unanimously elected as the district administrator candidate for the upcoming local elections in 2026. Chairman Hans-Martin Schertl opened the meeting and was proud to look back on the positive development of the party, which can look forward to numerous new members and the establishment of new local associations. Peter Dotzler, who brought greetings from the district council group, also spoke in his speech about the challenges that the district is facing, in particular the tense financial situation and the future of the municipal hospitals, in particular the St. Anna Hospital in Sulzbach-Rosenberg and the St. Johannes in Auerbach.
In his application speech, Kroher emphasized his motivation to be there for the citizens of the district. “I want to listen, build bridges and actively tackle problems,” he explained emphatically. According to him, the election campaign will be challenging, but he was optimistic as a representative of a closed faction that wants to go into the local elections with a clear goal. The election took place under the leadership of Albert Geitner and everyone present acknowledged the support of the entire district board. State parliament member Bernhard Heinisch also expressed his appreciation and pointed out the future cooperation between Kroher and the state parliament.
A look at the 2026 local elections
The local elections in Bavaria are scheduled for March 8, 2026. Every six years, citizens elect new members to the municipal representations of the cities and districts. This not only affects the municipal and city councils, but also the district councils, which are responsible for essential areas such as education, transport and social affairs. The FREIE VÄHLER Amberg-Sulzbach are planning to go into the election as a unit, which underlines the unity of the group and promises a dynamic election campaign.
It is important to note that the right to vote is regulated within the framework of the Municipal and District Election Act (GLKrWG). In order to be able to vote, voters must be at least 18 years old and have been resident in Bavaria for at least two months. There is also the option of postal voting in the elections, which has become particularly important in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stefan Kroher, who comes from Auerbach and is strongly supported by his party colleagues, will certainly have many conversations with citizens as a candidate in the coming months in order to hear their concerns and wishes for the future of the district. Through his efforts and the commitment of the FREIE WÄHLER, a new era could begin for the region.
