A traffic accident caused a stir on Sunday around 3 p.m. in the Hockermühlstrasse / Fuggerstrasse intersection area when a 19-year-old resident of the district had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries. The young man wanted to cross the intersection from Kastler Straße in the direction of Fuggerstraße with his car, but overlooked the right-of-way vehicle of a 30-year-old from Amberg who was passing the intersection in the direction of Hockermühlstraße.

The collision between the two vehicles resulted in a violent impact, which caused the Amberger's car to be thrown against another vehicle. A 49-year-old district resident who stopped at the traffic light was also involved in the accident. The traffic lights were not in use at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to the confusion. The total property damage is estimated at around 45,000 euros.
