Marienhaus Group takes over MVZ: Future supply in Neuwied secured!

In a significant step for healthcare in Neuwied, the Marienhaus Group took over three medical care centers (MVZ) on July 1, 2025. This decision follows the integration of the DRK Hospital Neuwied. In the future, the facilities in Neuwied, Ransbach-Baumbach and Ansbach will operate as Marienhaus MVZ Neuwied. Managing director Thorsten Kopp assures that everything will run smoothly and a large part of the existing team of doctors and medical professionals can continue to work without interruption, ensuring that patients continue to be cared for in the usual premises.

“We want patients to know our care in the way they are used to,” Kopp explains. The appointments will take place during the same opening hours and the secure management of all health and treatment data is guaranteed. Bibliomed Manager reports that the takeover of the MVZ practices is an important step in the expansion of Marienhaus MVZ GmbH's outpatient services.

Comprehensive supply range

From April 1, 2025, Marienhaus Kliniken GmbH will also operate the DRK Hospital Neuwied, which will in future be divided into two operating locations: Haus Elisabeth and Haus DRK. A comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient medical services is planned in these two facilities. No department will remain closed, while the surgical and internal medicine areas will be merged and partially expanded. This means patients continue to be in good hands, with around 75% of staff at the site set to be retained, including all registered nurses and trainees. Marienhaus adds that employees were informed about the new structures in March 2025.

A central emergency room and an on-call service center will be set up in Haus Elisabeth to optimize emergency care. The focus of inpatient care at Haus Elisabeth is on emergency and intensive care. With an intensive care unit that has 22 beds and additional beds for intermediate care, holistic and comprehensive patient care is guaranteed.

Innovation in medical care

The DRK House, on the other hand, will concentrate on elective and outpatient surgeries as well as hybrid surgeries and bundle the MVZ services there. Supporting services such as kitchen, hygiene and purchasing are combined to improve the cost situation and create synergies. An important aspect of the MVZ is that they can be founded by various providers such as practicing doctors, approved hospitals and non-profit organizations in order to strengthen medical care in the region. The aim is to offer patient-oriented care from a single source, in which outpatient contract doctors and employed doctors work closely together AOK.

The new MVZ and the comprehensive offering are intended to help secure and improve medical care in the Neuwied region in the long term. The transition to the Marienhaus Group not only offers continuity for patients, but also new perspectives for employees. Anyone interested can look forward to the developments - there's a lot happening here!
