Möbel Kempf says goodbye to long-time employees – a farewell for the hearts!

In tranquil Aschaffenburg there is news from the furniture industry that is a topic of conversation. The renowned furniture store Möbel Kempf GmbH & Co. KG has positioned itself well and attracts customers with current offers. Regardless of whether you are looking for a new armchair or a complete set of furniture, you will find everything your heart desires in the popular furniture store at Niedernberger Straße 8. The opening times are generous: Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., so there's enough time to get the best bargains.

But it's not just sales that are busy. At RUF Building Technology GmbH, two long-time employees, Ruthard Dick and Manfred Franke, said goodbye in an emotional celebration at the Kleinheubach location. A nice moment of thanks for their loyal service, with the last staff meeting of 2025 also offering reflection and an outlook on the coming year.

An era is coming to an end

An important part of Möbel Kempf's history is the company founder Heinrich Kempf, who died on June 18th at the age of 89. Furniture culture is reminiscent of an impressive life's work: The first furniture store was founded in 1959 in our own home, which has since developed into a proud company with more than 600 employees at four locations. The daughter Mariella and her husband Roland Hermann are now the third generation to run the company, while the grandchildren Carolin Hermann-Ott and Johannes Hermann are already actively involved in the management. Your grandfather will be remembered as a man of vision and determination.

However, the furniture industry as a whole is currently not on a rosy path. One example is the Möbel-Martin Group, the largest furniture retail company in southwest Germany, which is implementing significant job cuts. Around 330 jobs, or around 20% of the workforce, are to be rationalized away. These drastic cuts are a direct response to the company's financial difficulties, which have been in the red for the past year as the industry grapples with the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic and rising costs. Mercury reports on these challenges and management's regrets about the upcoming layoffs.

Current offers for car and furniture buyers

Apart from the turbulent times in the furniture industry, Möbel Kempf has some attractive promotions in store. From the Hyundai i10 at a special price starting at €15,300 to the Hyundai TUCSON with discounts of up to €11,000 – the offers are very popular and invite you to buy. Particularly worth mentioning is the extra bonus of €1,000 for decisions made by December 20, 2025. Such promotions make the pre-Christmas period an exciting period for buyers who want to get a good deal.

The furniture industry is constantly changing, from company history to personnel changes to tempting offers for customers. Whether in Aschaffenburg or across the region – interest in furniture remains undiminished, even if the road to get there is sometimes rockier.
