Excavator accident on B11: Driver rescued – federal road closed for hours!
On Tuesday afternoon, August 27, 2025, a spectacular accident involving heavy equipment occurred on the B11 between Wolfratshausen and Icking. At around 4:35 p.m., an excavator tipped over during a shoveling maneuver, slid down the slope and landed on its side. Despite the dramatic incident, the 23-year-old driver was able to free himself from the overturned vehicle and only sustained minor injuries. The emergency services took him to a nearby hospital for safety.
The excavator had to be rescued urgently due to the leaking operating materials. The vehicle was erected as quickly as possible with the help of a heavy-duty crane. The federal highway was closed until the early hours of the following day, more precisely until 1 a.m. A diversion was set up by the road maintenance department to divert traffic and ensure the safety of drivers. The Weidach and Wolfratshausen fire departments were also on site with around 40 emergency services, while the Wolfratshausen police are investigating the cause of the accident and possible violations of regulations.
