Young people conquer the stock market: Sparkasse starts simulation game 2025!

Today, October 4th, 2025, the exciting stock market simulation game for the 2025/26 school year began in the Sparkasse Center Bad Tölz. This event captivates over 60 young people from the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district. The event was opened by Ciano Sellman, a dedicated Sparkasse trainee, who, together with four other trainees, led through an exciting program that included, among other things, PowerPoint presentations and explanatory videos. Game leader Daniela Troidl was extremely satisfied with the attention of the participants.

What exactly can young people expect? The simulation game offers a practical, risk-free insight into stock market trading. Participants can use around 50,000 euros of virtual starting capital to trade stocks and securities. Billing is based on the Stuttgart stock exchange rates. The game round lasts until January 26, 2026. Another exciting aspect of the competition is the integration of sustainability, as a separate sustainability rating is part of the game.

Awards and prizes

But that's not enough. Participants can also win real prizes! Prizes are awarded in two categories: for the best overall depot rating and the best sustainability rating. The three best teams in each category can look forward to an award and are invited to a winners' gala with a varied supporting program. A special highlight – the national winners even receive a ticket to the European winners gala! Further placements receive financial support for school projects or help with studies.

How important is financial education? According to a statement from experts, this is highlighted as a key competency for young people. As part of the simulation game, participants not only learn how to invest capital and make strategic decisions, but they also develop an understanding of capital markets and how to weigh up risks. This is particularly important in economically uncertain times. Winning teams have often demonstrated a sense of the market and take a long-term approach to their investments.

The sustainability rating, in turn, attracts many teams that have intensively examined the impact of their investments. Six talented students from the Hohenburg secondary school in Lenggries should not go unmentioned. They express great interest and are ready to face the competition.
