Bamberger Sandkerwa celebrates 75 years with a new beer sensation!
The anticipation for the Bamberg Sandkerwa is increasing! From August 21st to 25th, 2025, the historic sandy area of Bamberg's old town will be the setting for a very special festival. This year the popular folk festival is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and this is being duly honored with a varied program. Over 200,000 visitors are expected to come and look forward to a very special spectacle. InFranken reports that a grandiose final fireworks display on the last day of the festival will be accompanied by music from 75 years of Sandkerwa.
The beer use will be particularly exciting this year: The renowned Rittmayer brewery from Hallerndorf will be offering its beers for the first time in the newly designed “Schank-Häusla” Bamberg. This innovative concept, located at St. Mark's Bridge, provides a podium from which visitors can enjoy the freshly tapped beer. According to Jürgen Wirth, Managing Director of Bamberger Sandkerwa Veranstaltungs GmbH, this is a premiere that has finally been made possible again after a break of over ten years.
