Bayreuth celebrates 100 years of tower clocks and an Advent market highlight!

A Bavarian company has every reason to be happy: it is celebrating its 100th anniversary! The tower clock specialists have been active in their small niche for a century and have thus earned a solid place in the market. Their expertise and tradition are not only important for the city of Bayreuth, but have also attracted national attention.

The Main and Finance Committee of the Bayreuth City Council will meet for a public meeting on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The agenda is well-filled: budget discussions for 2026 are on the agenda, as are grants for local clubs and associations, as well as a list of priorities for urgently needed construction work at schools, kindergartens and crèches. Christmas time in the alley district

It's not just economic issues that brighten the mood in the city. The anticipation for the Advent market in the Gassenviertel, which will take place on December 6th and 7th, is already noticeable. Visitors can look forward to a colorful program: In addition to festively illuminated stalls, there will also be concerts and a family program. A real highlight of this event will be free entry to the Bayreuth Historical Museum on the 2nd weekend of Advent. Director Martina Ruppert emphasizes how important it is to present the city's history in an easy-to-understand and accessible way.

The “Advent in the Gassenviertel” event enables people, regardless of their financial situation, to experience the joy of the Christmas season. Volker Sommerfeld, the head of the city mission, emphasizes the inclusive nature of this initiative. He receives support from volunteer members who take care of the logistics of the event. An additional concept led by Pastor Tobias Müller from the free Protestant community is intended to give families new access to Advent and Christmas.
