Bayreuth in transition: Experience opera singers and exciting events today!
There's a lot going on in the lively city of Bayreuth at the moment! A very special highlight is the opera singer Oliver Pürckhauer, who has found his new home here. After an exciting career that began with studying the saxophone and including singing lessons in Mexico, Pürckhauer has already performed at renowned stages in Florence, Milan and of course also in Bayreuth. An impressive career that is sure to inspire many.
But the focus is not just on music: the pop-up event “My Future” is taking place in Bayreuth’s Reichshof. This event runs today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is aimed at students and their parents. Here young people have the opportunity to look behind the scenes of various professions. Interactive stations, workshops and even VR experiences await participants. Some offers require advance booking, so keep an eye out!
Making applesauce in the museum
There are also exciting activities for the younger students. In the Museum of Farming Tools, children from the 1st grade onwards can make applesauce today. The program includes discovering and comparing different types of apples from the museum garden. After the work is done, the young chefs are allowed to try their homemade applesauce and take it home, provided they bring a screw-top jar with them. Participation in this great campaign is free of charge, but registration is required as places are limited.
In the context of the current discussions in Bayreuth, an online survey addresses the question of how migration has changed the cityscape. This survey received a great response with 3,321 participants. The evaluation shows that the topic divides opinion and is discussed controversially.
