A celebration of nature: final event in the Lindenhof delights Bayreuth!

On October 14, 2025, the Lindenhof in Bayreuth will be the venue for a special closing event. Mayor Thomas Ebersberger will be present to warmly welcome the participants and look back on a successful year of events. At the same time, a call is made to continue, as planning for 2026 begins immediately.

As part of the celebrations, the Summer Bayreuth association is offering an interactive plant game that appeals to visitors of all ages. In addition, information materials on nature-related topics and small catering are available to ensure guests have a pleasant stay.

Innovative sound world in the Natural History Museum

A highlight of the day will be the presentation of the “Wulmersreuth Soundscapes” project, led by Dr. Alan Fabian and Aaron Wettengel will be presented in the Natural History Museum in Lindenhof. This fascinating soundscape narrative shows the sound world of a horse farm over 24 hours. With the help of 3D audio recordings and a multi-channel loudspeaker installation, a unique listening experience is offered. Visitors can look forward to a short version of the sound day, which is shortened to 20 minutes and reproduces the central acoustic events in great detail.

Registration is required to participate in the “Neatly Sloppy” final event. In addition, the traveling exhibition “Neatly Sloppy – Habitat for Animals and Plants” presents exciting insights in the Ecological-Botanical Garden of the University of Bayreuth until October 12th.

Pure nature in the ecological botanical garden

The Ecological-Botanical Garden of the University of Bayreuth is not only a true treasure trove for plant lovers, but also an important habitat for many native animal species. Around 12,000 plant species thrive in natural habitats on an area of 16 hectares of open space and 6,000 m² of greenhouses. With habitats that include tropical rainforest, boreal coniferous forest and Mediterranean plants, the garden is a year-round attraction. It is also barrier-free and supports the university in research and teaching.

The crop garden contains over 700 species and varieties of medicinal plants, grains and vegetables, raising awareness of sustainable agriculture. At 24 stations in the outdoor area of the Botanical Garden, visitors can find out about measures and groups of organisms that contribute to biodiversity. Fortunately, this commitment has been rewarded by a lively response from the public, meaning that these events are planned to be continued next year.

All events are organized by the city and district of Bayreuth in collaboration with various organizations and clubs and supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. Also visit the green map of the thousands of gardens for more information about plant diversity in your area!

This initiative illustrates how important naturally designed gardens are in order to promote harmonious coexistence between people, animals and flora. A good hand in urban development is evident not least in such progressive projects.
