Great joy for the Rolli Bears: 1,000 euro donation from Mini-Bayreuth!

The city of Bayreuth has once again shown a great community spirit, within the framework of the unique children's play city “Mini-Bayreuth”. Here the youngest citizens have the opportunity to experience their adventures in a small town. As part of this event, the traditional Knobbern donation was awarded. The children who took part in this initiative were able to choose the recipient of the donation from four applicants. So they chose the Rolli Bears of RSV Bayreuth, a dedicated children's, youth and beginners team that is dedicated to wheelchair basketball.

The Knobbern donation amounts to an impressive 1,000 euros, which will benefit the team. The amount will be used for new training materials, jerseys and participation in tournaments. This gives the young players the opportunity not only to improve their sporting skills, but also to gain valuable experience in game operations and grow together as a team.

Ceremonial handover with guests

The official handover of the donation took place in the gymnasium of the Hohe Warte Hospital, where the Rolli Bears train regularly. Representatives of the city of Bayreuth, the city youth association and the Sparkasse Bayreuth were present, who, as partners of the city, not only support the play town, but also convert the Knobbern donation into euros. The Sparkasse thus shows its commitment to youth and sport in the city.

A look at “Mini-Bayreuth”

The “Mini-Bayreuth” event, which will take place from August 11th to 15th, 2025 at the youth campsite/Bayreuth’s barbecue station, offers children a variety of activities, from the leather workshop to model airplane building. Here the kids can learn through play and also collect a little income in the form of play money, the “knobbers”. This can be used for different offers within the city, such as the bouncy castle or in the fan shop.

The play town is open daily from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In order to enable as many children as possible to take part, 400 passes are available in the morning and 100 in the afternoon. This means that anyone who attended the first grade of school can immerse themselves in the colorful world of “Mini-Bayreuth”.

If you would like to see the event for yourself, you can find the youth tent city at Frankengutstrasse 139 in Bayreuth, easily accessible by bus number 306 from ZOH in the direction of Bayreuth Mensa - a short walk of just 230 meters is also possible.

Such a commitment to young people is not only commendable, but also an important sign of an active community in Bayreuth. It's nice to see how children and young people are supported and can also have a lot of fun at the same time.
