Six new paramedics strengthen the rescue service in Berchtesgadener Land!

In good news for the Berchtesgadener Land, the rescue service has been strengthened by six new paramedics since October 2025. The fresh forces are ready to meet the challenges of the operation. These are Kilian Claus, Valentin Kutsche, Johanna Fischer, Olga Rauter, Linda Geiger, who are starting out with a voluntary social year, and Corbinian Aigner. These new employees work at the rescue stations in Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden, Freilassing and Teisendorf. BRK-BGL reports.

Two weeks ago, the new colleagues started working in the emergency services and patient transport. They were welcomed at a celebratory reception by district manager Tobias Kurz and the deputy head of the rescue service, Hermann Scherer. Both managers are available to instruct the new employees in their tasks, while Dominik Eder, representative for medical devices, provides valuable information about the service operations and the devices used for emergency medical care.

Growing need for skilled workers

The need for specialists in emergency services has increased significantly in recent years. According to a survey by the Federal Statistical Office, around 85,000 people were employed in the emergency services in Germany in 2021, which corresponds to an increase of 71% since 2011. This makes it clear that this profession is becoming increasingly important and the demand for qualified personnel is high. What is particularly noteworthy is that the proportion of women in emergency services rose from 27% in 2011 to 34% in 2021, while young talent in the industry remains a major issue destatis.de reports.

The reasons for the increasing demand for employees are diverse. The Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), which has over 50,000 full-time and more than 20,000 voluntary employees, is a prime example of how important support in the social sector is. Founded in 1888 in the labor movement, the ASB has developed into an important service provider for socially relevant tasks and, among other things, offers comprehensive services for its members. The federal offices in Cologne and Berlin play a central role in organizing and advising the regional ASB divisions. ASB.de informs.

In summary, it can be said that the inclusion of the new paramedics in Berchtesgadener Land represents a positive development for the region. Not only is there a growing need for personnel in the emergency services, but also an increased interest in collaboration and training new professionals in an area that is crucial to the well-being of the community.
