Big inclusion festival in Cham: 41 institutions solemnly combined!

On July 6th, the city park in Cham will be back: Experience integration and inclusion up close. The 2nd inclusion and integration festival, which was launched by Florian Gruber, the chairman of the association life without barriers (praise), promises a colorful and informative program. How Middle Bavarian reports, the festival will take place between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. and, with over 40 participants, will be significantly larger than the first event in 2023, at which 21 stands were presented.

Preparations are already in full swing. Almost 40 representatives from various institutions appeared at the preliminary meeting. There is something to be said: the festival will not only be a celebration, but also a strong signal for the importance of inclusion and integration in Cham. The Living Quarter emphasizes that such festivals and celebrations in social institutions make an important contribution to promoting the community.

Diverse activities for everyone

Visitors can look forward to a variety of information stands and exciting activities. Among the exhibitors include the self -help group children's cancer, the social association VDK and the Chamers. Children are not neglected either: a carousel, a bouncy castle and a sugar cotton stand provide a lot of joy among the little guests. The family band Eibers & Friends and various dance groups bring musical entertainment to the city park. A special highlight is the flea market of the social department store of Diakonie and hair cutting through "hairdressers with heart".

The organization is supported by the municipal utilities that provide a power grid for the festival. Gruber and Renate Hecht, the representative for the disabled in the district, express the great importance of the festival for the reduction of barriers and the promotion of inclusion. Donation boxes that are intended for the youth center Juz, the Montessori School Schönthal and the Cham alliance against depression round off social engagement.

Inclusion – more than a buzzword

But what does inclusion really mean? Loud bpb is understood as an equal participation of all people, especially people with disabilities. It requires that social institutions open and adapt to individual needs. The breakdown of barriers - be it physically, socially or emotional - is only possible.

The legal framework in Germany offers important basics for this. Among other things, the Social Code (SGB) and the general equal treatment law regulate that people with disabilities must be treated equally in all areas of life. This is not only a legal obligation, but also a social necessity. Living Quarter shows that events such as the inclusion and integration festival make an important contribution to social participation and at the same time promote understanding and respect between cultures.

With a colorful spectrum of events, not only a festival is celebrated on July 6th in the city park, but also a strong sign of inclusion and social diversity. Be there and support the efforts to get together without barriers!
