Ketschendorf and Cortendorf triumph in Hof – recovery for TSV Unterlauter!
On October 27, 2025, the table tennis clubs in the region will show that the sporting ambition and passion for this fast-paced sport are unbroken. The North Northwest Regional League was the scene of exciting duels in which the teams were able to show that they have a good knack for competition.
TSV Cortendorf played against TTC 1990 Hof and wanted to make up for the painful 3:7 defeat in the association league. And it worked impressively! With a 6:4 win, Cortendorf was able to smooth things over and settle on the current score of 3:7 points. Moritz Müller and Paul Heyder proved their class by winning the doubles and also convincing in their singles matches, each with a narrow 3:2 win after a 1:2 deficit. After an interim equalizer of 3:3, TSV managed to win three singles in a row, which secured the confident final score. This comeback shows that the club does not give up despite previous setbacks and continues to fight hard for success.
Defeats that aren't defeats
Also in action was TV Coburg-Ketschendorf, which competed in Hof and repeated its previous year's result of 6:4. With 5:5 points they are now level on points with ASV Undorf, which promises an exciting battle for the top places in the league. The game was also exciting here: After a 3-1 lead, Ketschendorf lost a double in the deciding set, but was able to win the game thanks to strong individual performances - including from Felix Hampp and Michael Bui. It turns out that the team's energy resources are strong and they cannot be disturbed, even when things get tight.
The day was also a success for TSV Unterlauter. They won 6:4 against TV Weiterhausen and improved their points account to 3:7. Their strength in doubles, embodied by Ben Fischer and Elina Meyer, was also shown in the singles matches, which they skillfully won. Despite an initially promising 3-1 deficit, an exciting contest ensued that captivated the spectators.
The love of table tennis
The exciting games and the increasing popularity of table tennis in Germany are impressive. According to current surveys by the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB), the association now has around 527,000 members, a considerable increase compared to the previous year. This trend is also reflected in the growing number of interested spectators who gather in the halls every weekend. There is a sense that Schleswig-Holstein is considered a stronghold for talented players, a fact that could become even more interesting in the coming years.
How the leagues will develop in the coming years remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the sport of table tennis in the region is lively and dynamic. Whether Cortendorf, Ketschendorf or Unterlauter – they all show that they are ready to fight for victory, and with enthusiasm that thrills the audience.
