There was a striking incident in the Rottal-Inn district today that caused a brief moment of shock among passers-by. How NP-Coburg reports, a 48-year-old truck driver was surprised by a technical defect when his right rear tire burst. This unexpected breakdown resulted in the rim dragging on the asphalt and sparks flying - a dangerous mix that also set an adjacent green area on fire.
The fire spread over a length of around 500 meters, which quickly brought the local fire departments to the scene. However, they were able to intervene quickly and put out the fire before it could cause major damage. It's fortunate that there were no injuries and the damage caused remains in the low three-digit range.
High number of accidents on German roads
