Café Saturday Children: Popular meeting place in Dachau closes at the end of the year!
In the heart of Dachau's old town there is a place that has been a true hub for creativity and community for six years: the Café Sonntagskinder. Run by the two entrepreneurs Annika Hauß (36) and Jennifer Stolle (38), the charming café was brought to life in 2019. Not only coffee lovers meet here, but also music enthusiasts and literary minds. Whether food boxes, concerts, readings or clothing swap parties - the café offers a wide range of activities and is a popular meeting place for young and old. As sueddeutsche.de reports, the two women have have now decided to sell the café at the end of the year.
The two entrepreneurs are facing personal change: Last year they were both able to start a new phase in their lives when they both became pregnant. Annika is expecting her second child, while her almost five-year-old son Benno is already curiously exploring the world. These significant changes in their lives now lead them to want to step away from the café to focus fully on their families.
A special place for the community
The Saturday Children's Café was not only a place of enjoyment, but also a space for inspiration and community. The creative atmosphere was enriched by numerous events that brought people together. “We have always had a good knack for bringing people together,” say Annika and Jennifer. The café has never stood still and over the years has been able to gain a permanent place in the hearts of Dachau residents.
Now the two women ask themselves the question: What happens next? It is clear to them that the café should be handed over to responsible hands. “We would like the new generation of entrepreneurs here to carry on what we started,” they said in an interview. The succession will definitely not be an easy undertaking, but the two mothers are optimistic about the future.
A journey through time in gastronomy
As in many other areas of life, the circumstances in the catering industry are constantly changing. Analogous to the statistical trends that are recorded using technologies such as Prophet, an exciting development can also be observed here. Prophet offers an interesting perspective on future developments in the hospitality sector through a robust model that takes into account non-linear trends and seasonal effects. Since the Saturday Children's Café has particularly benefited from seasonal influences, this knowledge could be important for future operators in order to maintain the tradition of such a popular meeting place.
With a balanced mix of personal and business changes, Café Sonntagskinder is embarking on a new journey. The two entrepreneurs are preparing to pass on their ideas and passion for gastronomy to a new generation. So the wish remains that the spirit of the café lives on and allows new creative impulses to blossom in Dachau.
More and more people are looking for ways to spend time together, share inspiring experiences and visit beautiful places. Whether with or without the Saturday Children's Café – the search for such special places will remain the focus in the future.
