SV Manching celebrates an exciting 4:3 win in the basement duel against Kempten!
The fans of SV Manching can cheer! In a thrilling basement duel against FC Kempten, coach Michael Resser's men achieved their first win of the season on August 10, 2025. With a goal-rich 4:3 they beat the Allgäu team, who looked like the sure winner in the first half.
Ivan Buric gave Kempten the lead in the second minute, followed by Kenta Wataru, who increased the lead to 2-0 in the 24th minute. Maximilian Eberwein's own goal in the 27th minute gave the guests an unfortunate 3-0 lead. But Manching didn't let himself get down. Sebastian Graßl scored in the 35th minute and reduced the score to 1:3, before making it 2:3 with a converted penalty just before halftime. Manching started the second half with this tailwind.
An unexpected comeback
However, the second half started anything but calmly. Emanuel Gstettner saw the traffic lights in the 59th minute and had to leave the field. The majority didn't seem to help the Kempten team, however, because Rainer Meisinger, who only came on as a substitute in the 60th minute, turned the game around with two goals in the 73rd and 75th minutes to give Manching a 4-3 win.
The referee Nicolas Dolderer managed the game in a rather calm manner, with 120 spectators watching the exciting game. With this success, Manching jumped up in the table and can now look forward to the next games with optimism. In the current season, the average points yield for Manching is 1.6 points per home game, while Kempten still has no away point, as Footystats reports.
A look at the league
Parallel to the fight to stay in the league, other games also caused excitement. FSV Pfaffenhofen drew 1-1 against FC Stätzling, while TSV Jetzendorf won 3-0 against SC Oberweikertshofen. The table is tight and every point counts, especially at this crucial stage of the season.
In addition to the football highlights, it is exciting to see how data analysis in football continues to develop. The Institute for Training Science and Sports Informatics of the German Sport University Cologne is working closely with the DFL to close a gap in game analysis. A comprehensive dataset of importance to the scientific and sporting community is published under the heading “An integrated dataset of spatiotemporal and event data in elite soccer”.
These developments in football not only promise exciting games, but also a deeper insight into the dynamics of the game itself - and that's something that makes every fan's soul beat faster!
