Barbecue party of the Oberndorf fire department: fun despite the rain and anniversary announcement!

On June 15, 2025, a lively barbecue organized by the volunteer fire department took place in Oberndorf, which attracted numerous visitors despite the unsettled weather. The festival offered a rich program for young and old, and the fire department was visibly satisfied with how it went. From 3 p.m. onwards, the little guests could have fun with face painting and rides in the fire engine. The all-day bouncy castle was responsible for the airy jumps and was not only popular with the children.

From 6:00 p.m. there was a strong barbecue. The fire department served fresh grilled specialties, which were well received by festival visitors. The convivial atmosphere was then ensured by a bar where you could relax with summer drinks such as Lillet, Aperol and wine spritzer. The evening ended in a relaxed atmosphere. Many thanks went to the numerous helpers, cake donors and supporters who contributed to the success of the festival. The FF Genderkingen sponsorship association was also represented among the guests.

Fire departments in anniversary fever

But that's not all: the 150th anniversary of the Wiener Neudorf Volunteer Fire Department will be celebrated in less than two weeks. This promises to be another big festival that will take place on September 11th, 2022 at the Franz Fürst Leisure Center. Numerous activities are planned for children, including a bouncy castle, face painting and skills stations. The motto is “With youth into the future,” which underlines the importance of promoting young talent and working together. Visitors can also look forward to an extensive supply of food and drinks to round off the festival. In this way, the Wiener Neudorf fire department shows how important it is to the community and that it will continue to rely on young people in the future in order to continue to actively serve others.

The fire department festival in Wiener Neudorf is not only a celebration for the local population, but also an outstanding example of networking within the fire departments. This becomes particularly clear at the big Vienna Fire Brigade Festival 2024, which will be celebrated in the first district from September 6th to 8th. Visitors can look forward to exciting demonstrations such as simulated extinguishing a fire with a bucket sprayer and, above all, the presentation of the emergency vehicles. Here the fire brigade is not only well equipped for rescue missions, but also for youth work and networking between citizens and the emergency services.
