Greens in Aßling rely on diversity: strong team for local council elections!
A lot is happening in Aßling: On December 5, 2025, the Alliance Greens put together their list for the local council elections on March 8, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Max Maier and produced a uniform result - the list consists of 16 candidates who have equal representation and represent both men and women. At the top is Carolin Böker, a biologist with a doctorate, followed by incumbent local councilor Konrad Eibl in second place. What is particularly noteworthy is the wide range of professions that the list covers: from a gynecologist to an automotive mechatronics engineer, many different life paths are represented.
Waltraud Gruber, spokeswoman for the local association, emphasizes that the diversity of the candidates is one of the greatest strengths. She emphasizes the need for expertise in science, crafts and social work to advance the future of Aßling - especially in the areas of climate protection and sustainable local politics. These issues were also addressed in the meeting, where a number of concrete campaign ideas were developed.
Election campaign highlights
The suggestions include a hike to the renatured Attel as well as specialist lectures, including from Sebastian Gart, the climate protection manager for the Ebersberg district, on sustainable building. Another highlight: A keynote speech by Carolin Böker on January 16, 2026, in which she will shed light on the topic of “Water as a vital resource of the future”. The unanimous adoption of the list signals the Aßlingen Greens' unified course and the determination to go into the election campaign with fresh ideas.
But it's not just the Greens who are active. The CSU in Aßling has also set its course for the future. Sebastian Brilmayer was nominated as a candidate for mayor. He received 100 percent approval at the meeting on Wednesday evening. Brilmayer, the son of the former mayor of Ebersberg, already has experience on the local council and will run in 2026 against the independent incumbent Hans Fent, who is no longer running.
Local elections 2026
After his experience on the local council since 2014, Brilmayer now sees himself in an improved position. His planned priorities as mayor include the consolidation of municipal finances as well as the development of new building areas and strengthening the commercial location. Another goal is to improve communication between the local administration and the citizens, also relying on modern media.
In a broader political context, the Die Linke party in North Rhine-Westphalia is also planning to prepare for the 2025 local elections. The new local policy guidelines focus on social justice, affordable housing and more democratic participation. Kathrin Vogler, the state spokeswoman, expressed optimism about the upcoming election campaign and plans to run in municipalities across the board.
The coming weeks and months will be exciting: As Aßling prepares for the upcoming elections, the political trends are clearly visible. It remains to be seen whether voters will opt for new approaches or tried-and-tested faces. One thing is certain, however: the election campaign will be lively and varied.
