Weeks of tolerance: Ebersberg unites generations for a better future!

The Weeks of Tolerance are coming up in the Ebersberg district from October 29th to December 1st, 2025, organized by Catholic District Education Center Ebersberg (KBW) in collaboration with numerous associations and initiatives. The aim of the event is to “build bridges and create meeting spaces” for all generations. Under the motto "Together. Shaping the future." A diverse program is offered with a total of 25 events at seven locations.

The kick-off event will take place on October 29th at 7 p.m. in Ebersberg, where Prof. Dr. Reimer Gronemeyer will give a lecture entitled “The Rejected – Why Age Discrimination Harms Our Society”. Other planned events include a poster exhibition about women in divided Germany, a joint Shabbat evening in Forstinning and several film screenings and readings.

Diversity of topics and social relevance

The program emphasizes socially relevant topics such as understanding of generations, climate problems, migration and gender equality, to name just a few. In the context of current challenges, women today take on a variety of roles, as teachers, workers and household managers, often without adequate pay. Mercury highlights that the Weeks of Tolerance also aim to renegotiate values ​​such as justice, achievement and dignity.

Another highlight is the exhibition “Strong Women” on November 3rd in Ebersberg and the event “Man and Machine – How AI and social media endanger our democracy” on November 18th in Vaterstetten, which address important social issues.

Promotion and intercultural integration
