Why ferment?
Fermentation is a food preservation method that dates back thousands of years and dates back to the Neolithic period in China. As early as 7000 BC. In the 4th century BC, fermented products were produced in various cultures, which, in addition to preserving food, also improved the taste and offered health benefits. The website offers an exciting insight into this topic simleo, which shows the diverse distribution of this method in different cultures.
In Europe, for example, sauerkraut is a well-known fermented product, while in Asia traditional specialties such as kimchi or miso are on the menu. Not only are fermented foods tasty, they can also promote gut health and strengthen the immune system.
Health Benefits of Fermentation
The health benefits of these foods are diverse. Studies show that fermentation increases nutrient availability, including through the content of probiotic bacteria, which can have positive effects on the cardiovascular system and general well-being. According to the experts, fermentation has antioxidant properties and promotes health in a holistic way.
Last but not least, the workshop could be an excellent opportunity to try out this healthy method of food preservation yourself. The Eichstätt Association for Horticulture and Land Conservation is therefore looking forward to welcoming a large number of interested participants who would like to be inspired and learn a lot from the exchange.
