Construction site chaos on S-Bahn line S2: Passengers have to reschedule!
Erding, Deutschland - Summer has arrived in Munich, and with it there are also some changes to the passengers of the S-Bahn. As ed-live.de , switch construction work and deep drainage take place in the nights from July 12th to 20th. This work concerns the S-Bahn line S2, which is significantly impaired by the construction work.
The construction work is for the nights on Saturday/Sunday, 12th/13th. July, as well as on Friday/Saturday, 18./19. July, and on Saturday/Sunday, 19./20. Planned in July. On these nights, work is made between 8:50 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., which can lead to timetable changes, delays and failures. There will also be replacement traffic, mobile sheet metal boxes are available to inform and support passengers.
Which lines are affected?
Here is an overview of the S-Bahn lines and their respective changes:
- S1: trains start/end at the Gleis 27-35 main train station and do not stop at the Hacker Bridge.
- s2: trains to Erding start at the Ostbahnhof and drive from/to Riem without a stop. The connection to Petershausen/Altomünster takes place at the Isartor.
- S3: These trains begin/end in the direction of Holzkirchen in Giesing, while they hold towards Mammendorf in Pasing.
- s4: trains fail between Trudering and Pasing, the direction of Geltendorf start/end at Heimeranplatz Gleis 11.
- S5: towards Kreuzstraße begin/end the trains in Giesing, while they fail after Pasing between Giesing and Pasing.
- S6/S8: trains towards Ebersberg begin/end in Trudering with rail replacement traffic between Trudering and Ostbahnhof. Trains from Tutzing drive directly to the airport.
- s7: This line runs according to schedule between the main train station and Wolfratshausen.

The changes mentioned above are not the only ones that are due for the Munich S-Bahn in the near future. On 28./29. July, 18./19. August and 8th/9th September will also change timetable changes. These are just a few of the many works necessary to bring the infrastructure of the Munich S-Bahn to a modern standards, such as Augsburger-allgemeine.de
