Discover Erding's art treasures: Free cultural walk!
On Thursday, September 25th, 2025, a very special event will take place in Erding: the “Artist's Path” cultural walk. Organized by the “Erding Moves” working group in collaboration with the Erding Museum and the Franz Xaver Stahl Museum, the city invites you to get to know the works and stories of some of the region’s important artists. The walk begins at 7 p.m. on Kordonhausgasse, corner of Haager Strasse, and lasts about 90 minutes.
The art historical tour is led by Simone Lachmann, who leads through the artistic stations with a lot of passion. The focus is on artists such as Hiasl Maier-Erding, Magda Bittner-Simmet, Albert Schiestl-Arding, Benno Hauber and Franz Xaver Stahl. At the crowning conclusion, participants can expect a glass of champagne and the opportunity to marvel at original works of art in the Erding Museum. Registration is not necessary and participation is free, making this evening a great opportunity to experience art and culture up close.
The Erding Museum: A treasure from 170 years
Anyone interested in the cultural walk should also take a look at the Erding Museum, which has an exciting story to tell. It was founded in 1856 by merchant Anton Bachmair, who laid the foundation stone with an exhibition of historical military items. In the following years, the museum moved several times until it was finally expanded to include a modern extension in 2010. Today it houses a permanent exhibition with seven departments as well as changing special exhibitions on topics such as archaeology, urban history and art.
The museum is not only a place of history, but also offers a photo gallery with over 1,400 impressive motifs. There are a variety of events, from lectures to concerts to workshops, that appeal to young and old. Particularly practical: Tours can also be arranged outside of regular opening hours and offer barrier-free access for all visitors.
A place for the entire family
The museum shop offers a selection of books and souvenirs, while fair coffee creations and chocolates can be enjoyed in the museum café. Be it a visit to the permanent exhibition or one of the exciting workshops – Museum Erding is a place where culture comes to life.
The museum's opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free; guided tours only cost four euros per person. For all art and culture lovers, the “Artists' Path” cultural walk is a great opportunity to discover and appreciate Erding's diverse cultural heritage. [Ed-live] reports that this is an ideal event for anyone interested in the local art scene, as the city of Erding continues to work on its cultural identity with [Erding.de].
