Festive service at Fraunberg Castle: Live and celebrate diversity!
A festive event took place yesterday in the picturesque castle park of Fraunberg, where the deanery service was celebrated under the motto “Live and let live”. Numerous believers from ten parishes in the districts of Freising, Erding and Ebersberg gathered to celebrate diversity and tolerance, which are of great importance in today's world. Dean Christian Weigl warmly welcomed everyone present and in his speech also discussed the importance of acceptance of different lifestyles. He emphasized, “God is the lover of life,” a message quoted from the Book of Wisdom. Mercury reports.
The musical accompaniment of the service was provided by 18 wind instruments from the Protestant deanery in Freising under the direction of Ulf Krüger. Their performance created a festive atmosphere that brought the community together. After the ceremony, the guests were able to fortify themselves with delicious grilled and vegetarian dishes in the castle courtyard. This demonstrated the commitment of the German-Ukrainian cultural association Unity Center UA, which was present with a stand and performed Ukrainian singing. Kateryna Tyshchenko and Marharyta Vasserman enchanted the audience with opera and jazz melodies. Bavaria-Evangelically informed.
Diversity and tolerance in focus
In his speech, Dean Weigl addressed the challenges that exist in our increasingly diverse society. Linked to issues such as oppression in Christianity and society, the call for more tolerance goes hand in hand with a responsible discussion about identity politics. This is taking place in a time of change and globalization that requires new forms of coexistence. The EKD describes these necessities and the basic idea that every human being should be recognized as a creature of God, without exclusion or standardization.
An exciting children's program was organized for the younger ones in attendance, which was led by religious educator Simone Scheyerer. The little guests were able to enjoy a water course and a quiz about the parable of the Good Samaritan. Here the children were taught in a playful way what the values of Christianity are.
The deanery service was not just a religious gathering, but a community celebration that shows how important exchange and cohesion are in today's times. Such events strengthen a sense of community and at the same time help to accept and celebrate cultural diversity - a step in the right direction for everyone.
