Erding Clinic invests in state-of-the-art ultrasound systems!

An important step for the quality of medical care in the Erding district: The Erding District Hospital has a strategic partnership with Siemens Healthineers in the area of ultrasound devices and probes. The agreement focuses on modernizing medical and technical equipment and is intended to significantly improve patient care.

A series of 29 new ultrasound systems will be installed, maintained and supported over the coming years. This partnership will initially run for eight years; however, there is the possibility of extending it for two years. District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer emphasizes the strategic value of this cooperation. Benefits include uniformity of device quality, higher quality of reporting, increased efficiency and reduced maintenance costs.

Technological improvements for patient care

Why is this so important? The new technology not only helps to make expenses easier to plan, but also enables a central contact person for all concerns. This strategic decision was made after a Europe-wide tender in which Siemens Healthineers was awarded the contract with the most economical and technically convincing concept. Peter Eckert from Siemens Healthineers emphasized the importance of diagnostic accuracy and versatility in the ultrasound portfolio.

But that is not the only innovation that the Erding District Hospital has to offer. On June 25, 2025, the new portable sonography device was put into operation in the department of vascular surgery, which was supported by the hospital's support association with 5,300 euros. Those present included, among others, the association's advisor, Sandra Angermaier, and the chief physician, Dr. Mojtaba Sadeghi. The second chairman of the support association, Maria Els, and the clinic director Dr. Dirk Last was also there.

Flexible and effective – help in critical moments

The portable ultrasound device optimally complements existing diagnostics and offers the diagnostic options of a stationary system, but is much more mobile. This flexibility is particularly important in time-critical situations, such as the rapid detection of arterial occlusions or the control of vascular bypasses.

The immediate availability of the device enables diagnostics without wasting time and plays a crucial role in minimally invasive procedures. The device is used for ultrasound-assisted vascular puncture, which significantly reduces complications such as incorrect punctures or vascular injuries. After surgical procedures, it is also used to monitor vascular access and to rule out postoperative bleeding at an early stage.

With this new equipment, the Erding District Hospital is making a real contribution to improving medical care. Both the partnership with Siemens Healthineers as well as the purchase of the portable ultrasound device are clear steps in the right direction!
