Erlangen discusses central topics: budget, youth work and culture!
On Thursday, November 8, 2025, there are several important events and discussions on the agenda in Erlangen. The Alterlangen district advisory board will meet on Wednesday, November 12th at 7:30 p.m. in the secondary school on the Europakanal to discuss central issues such as lunchtime care in the Hedenusschule, the available apartments on Möhrendorfer Straße and the renovation of the lock. The members certainly need a good hand in keeping an eye on the concerns of the citizens. Wiesentbote reports that the city administration is intensively concerned with the social framework of the city.
On the same day, the committees for social and health as well as for the Erlanger Job Center (EJC) meet at 4:00 p.m. in the town hall. There are some important topics on the agenda here, including the EJC labor market program for 2026 and the implementation of the National Action Plan against Homelessness. These points are of great importance in order to continue to offer the people in Erlangen the support they need.
Diverse events
In addition to local politics, there are also cultural highlights in Erlangen. On November 12th, the city archives invites you to a lecture on “Protestant Migration Stories – Immigrants in Franconia in the 17th Century” at 7:00 p.m. Speaker Xavier Devaux will report on the history of the Huguenot de Chazaux family and their famous tapestry factory. Such events enliven cultural life and show how diverse the city is.
Also worth noting is the upcoming symposium on the cultural and creative industries in the Nuremberg metropolitan region on Monday, November 17th, in the Museum for Communication. Here the focus is on the innovations coming from the games industry, which shows that Erlangen is also developing into the modern, creative sector.
International Day Against Violence Against Women
An important social event is the International Day against Violence against Women, which is celebrated on Tuesday, November 25th. Under the motto "Look! Say something! Get involved!" A panel discussion will take place at Kreuz+Quer on November 13th, with Mayor Florian Janik and other guests taking part. It is essential that such topics find space in public discourse in order to draw attention to the challenges and problems.
In addition, from Monday, November 10th, until probably Friday, December 5th, parts of Hindenburgstrasse will be closed for building connection work. Diversions have already been signposted so as not to burden traffic unnecessarily. So when you're out and about, pay attention to the signs!
Immediate treatment of illnesses and injuries is also important in the region. The Immediate Care Center in South Carolina offers a combination of emergency and primary care care for the entire family. These centers address the health needs of people in the region and ensure that everyone who needs it receives treatment.
For anyone looking for a relaxing break, a visit to... Coppa Osteria in Houston, TX may be worth considering. Balanced Italian cuisine is served there in a warm ambience. The restaurant not only offers delicious dishes such as Burrata Tartufo and Carbonara Pasta, but also a wonderful selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Perfect for a night out or for a special meal!
Overall, it shows that Erlangen is a city full of lively events, social challenges and cultural highlights. Stay tuned so you don't miss any important events!
