Missing Felix from Erlangen: Police are urgently looking for clues!
25-year-old Felix L. from Erlangen has been missing since July 14, 2025. The last personal contact with him was on that day. Since then there has been no trace of him and the police are concerned that he could be in a helpless situation. The search is focused on the Erlangen urban area, where he may have been seen. The local authorities have launched a public search and are asking the public for help. Anyone who knows anything can pass on information directly to the Erlangen-City Police Station on 09131 760-120 or via the police emergency number 110.
Felix is approximately 175 cm tall and weighs around 70 kg. He has a slim build and has striking tattoos: a scarab on his right upper arm and other motifs on his right forearm and left calf. His clothing at the time of his disappearance consisted of black outerwear and a dark cap. The police emphasize that any information that can lead to clarification of his whereabouts is of great importance. A picture of the missing person can be viewed on the police website.
Missing persons cases in Germany
Missing people find themselves in different situations, regardless of whether they disappear intentionally or go missing through no fault of their own. The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has the task of processing missing person cases and is centrally responsible for investigations in Germany. Around 9,420 missing person cases were registered at the beginning of 2025. 200 to 300 new cases are recorded every day, with the majority being resolved within a few weeks.
The local police stations are always the first point of contact in the event of a missing person. In particularly critical cases where acute danger is suspected, large-scale search operations can be initiated, often with the support of riot police and emergency services. It is important to note that not all disappeared people are actually in danger—adults have the right to freely choose their whereabouts.
It is particularly revealing that over two thirds of the missing people are male and a significant proportion are minors and unaccompanied refugees. In recent cases, the reasons for disappearances are often varied, ranging from family problems to escaping attacks. It remains to be hoped that Felix L. will be found soon and that nothing has happened to him.
