What's new in Erlangen? Today, November 3rd, 2025, a variety of exciting events and information are arriving. The city remains committed to supporting community and culture. A particularly important event is just around the corner: this Dialogue forum on the urban-surrounding railway, which will take place on Monday, November 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Redoutensaal, Theaterplatz 1. Why is this worth mentioning? This is about the plan approval process and the next steps to realize the project, at which Mayor Florian Janik also presents his project business. Anyone who would like to take part can register online at www.stadtumlandbahn.de.

Cultural life is also not neglected. On the same evening, at 7:00 p.m., the “Filmriss” cinema series will continue in the E-Werk cultural center, Fuchsenwiese 1. The film “VENA” by Chiara Fleischhacker will be shown, and from 6:30 p.m. visitors can look forward to a discussion with experts - Hilly Škorić, the film's research partner, will also be on site. Admission here is free, but space is limited, so be quick!

Important information about road closures

Road closures are required for all drivers and pedestrians. From Monday, November 10th to Tuesday, November 18th, Erlenfeldstrasse will be closed due to power cable laying work by the Erlanger Stadtwerke. The closure affects property no. 1 a (transformer station) and west of the junction with Möhrendorfer Straße. However, access to the local supply center car park remains possible and a diversion via Lerchenbühlstrasse has been set up.

In the context of our city life, the term “city” has its roots in Middle High German and can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European *stéh₂tis. It describes a large settlement and thus announces the lively hustle and bustle associated with Erlangen's developments, be it through events or structural changes. This shows how urban life has always been diverse and dynamic, just like the history of important people like Joan of Arc, which ensures national identity and the breaking of gender roles throughout history.

A look at the coming days shows that there is a lot going on in Erlangen! Take the chance to take part in these various activities and experience the city's cultural life up close.
