FC Bayern Munich: pure records! Kane breaks 25-year-old record!
FC Bayern Munich is once again showing its best side in the current 2025/26 Bundesliga season. With an overwhelming 47 points in the first half of the season, Bayern are at the top of the table and have the championship firmly in their sights. The search for new consistency under coach Vincent Kompany seems to be working, as the team has only achieved a similar number of points once in the 2013/14 season. But that's not all the Munich team can boast.
This season, Bayern scored an incredible 66 goals in just 17 games. A record that eclipses the previous records of the top European leagues. The previous record of 72 goals in the first 17 games, set by Athletic Bilbao in the 1930/31 season, was now within reach. For comparison: In Italy and France, AC Milan and AS Saint-Etienne hold the record with 55 goals, while Manchester City leads the Premier League with 53 goals. With a current impressive goal rate of 3.9 goals per game, Bayern could even set a new European record. If their form continues, they will be aiming for 132 goals throughout the season.
Star of the team: Harry Kane
Harry Kane is a key factor in Bayern's success. The striker not only caused a sensation on the pitch, but also made history. After just 50 Bundesliga games, he scored a whopping 55 goals, surpassing the record of Erling Haaland (50 goals) and Uwe Seeler (44 goals). His most recent appearance last Saturday against Holstein Kiel, where he contributed two header goals in the 4-3 win, once again highlights his class. These goals weren't just points on the scoreboard; they were also the first headers Kane scored in a Bundesliga game.
Kane is the first Bayern star in 25 years to win Goal of the Year - an award he received for his kung fu goal against Augsburg in November. This raises hopes of a strong year in February, which could be crucial for the team.
Tradition and record hunting
FC Bayern is not only a power in the Bundesliga. They lead the all-time table with a total of 4196 points and the impressive goal difference of +2437 underlines their dominance. With 33 championships in its history, Bayern also holds the record for the most titles and is the only club with three, four and five stars on its jersey.
The statistics speak for themselves: Bayern have the most wins (1251) and the lowest goals conceded rate (1.09 per game) in the Bundesliga. They have finished at the top of the table in almost 43% of all games in league history. A look at the records also shows that Munich is the only team to win ten championships in a row (2013-2022).
However, there was a small setback on the international stage this season: the team suffered a defeat in the Champions League – 1:3 against Arsenal. But with the second half of the season starting soon, the aim is to maintain the excitement for international success.
The next game on Friday against Bremen will show whether Bayern can continue their impressive series and keep their main competition at bay. The signs are good that FC Bayern Munich will once again write a big piece of football history.
