Dominik Gebhard: New youth spokesman brings a breath of fresh air to the fire department!

Something is happening in Kirchehrenbach! At the annual general meeting of the youth fire brigade, Dominik Gebhard was elected as the new youth spokesman. He follows Raphael Götz, who can already look back on exciting activities, including the traditional Christmas tree collecting, the carnival parade and a trip to the Geiselwind leisure area. A bike tour also took place, and the highlight of the year was the 24-hour professional fire brigade day, which took place at the end of October. The youth fire brigade achieved a lot with a total of 55 meetings, including 42 exercises, as reported by nn.de.

Daniel Müller, the youth officer, shared with the assembled members the impressive 1,685 hours of volunteer work. The youth fire brigade currently consists of eleven committed young people who not only have fun, but also get their money's worth in sports. In competitions such as the District Youth Olympics, the team celebrated the jump to the Upper Franconian level and also successfully completed tests such as the Youth Flame, the Bavarian Youth Performance Test and the knowledge test.

The role of the youth representative

The election of a youth representative is not just a formal matter. Rather, it is an important position in the youth fire brigade that acts as a link between the members and the youth fire brigade warden. The youth spokesperson has the task of acting as a mouthpiece, building trust and discussing problems and ideas for the youth fire department. Openness, honesty and empathy are required here, as the Youth Forum Saxony explains.

Dominik Gebhard is supported in his new role by a committed management team. Jakob Roppelt works alongside him as deputy youth spokesman, Niklas Dietz as secretary and Jannick Knaus as treasurer to actively represent the interests of young people and introduce new ideas. It can be expected that these young leaders will start the future of the youth fire department with fresh ideas.

Youth work in the fire department

The importance of youth work within the fire department cannot be overestimated. Its aim is to prepare young people for work in the fire service and thus to promote young talent. According to Wikipedia, around 264,000 children and young people in Germany are active in the youth fire brigade, in around 18,300 groups. Entry usually takes place from the age of 10, and many are allowed to enter active service from the age of 16. This shows how important it is to arouse interest in fire services and volunteer work early on.

The diverse activities organized by the youth fire department not only expand professional knowledge, but also promote social aspects such as community building and team spirit. The active members work together on projects that go beyond the fire service and integrate into society. This is not only important for the young people, but also contributes to their identification with the fire department.

We are excited to see what the next year has in store for the youth fire department in Kirchehrenbach, but one thing is certain: with the new youth spokesman Dominik Gebhard at the front, the team will certainly continue to have a good knack for exciting activities and projects. The fire department is not only an important part of the community, but also offers every individual the opportunity to get actively involved and make a difference.
