Freising track and field athletes celebrate championship successes at the end of the season!
The young track and field athletes from Freising experienced an exciting season finale, concluding their competition season with an impressive performance at the Upper Bavarian Block Championships and the Bavarian Championships. How Mercury reported, the athletes showed what they were made of, especially in the M 13 and M 12 age groups.
The performances of Tim Wolf and Anton Guyot particularly stood out. Tim Wolf, who took part in the block competition, secured the title in the block sprint/jump with an excellent 2568 points and relegated his competition to the bottom by 415 points. His highlights: a personal best of 9.74 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles, a long jump of 4.86 meters and a high jump of 1.55 meters, which makes him the only athlete over 1.50 meters. Although the competition was strong, he held on well with a javelin throw of 36.20 meters.
But Anton Guyot also had every reason to be happy. He also won the gold medal in the all-around competition with 2149 points, a lead of 90 points. He showed his best performances in the ball throw with 52.50 meters and a personal best time of 10.57 seconds over the hurdles. He crowned his competition with a solid 800-meter run (2:44.75 minutes).
The Bavarian championships rocked
The Bavarian U16 and U23 championships in Ingolstadt were another highlight of this season. Here Dominik Reisch (M 14) triumphed in the 80-meter hurdles, where he sprinted to the finish in an unbeatable 11.79 seconds – a personal best for him too. Moritz Reger (M 14) missed the final in the 100-meter sprint, but was able to be proud of sixth place in the 80-meter hurdles with a time of 12.95 seconds. Tim Wolf also showed his class here and came fourth in the hurdles with 12.57 seconds.
Another highlight was the 4x100 meter relay, in which Reisch, Wolf, Reger and Jonathan Obermeier from VfR Garching won the Bavarian championship title - with a wafer-thin lead of just 0.04 seconds over LG Stadtwerke Munich!
What's next?
