Moosburg's Beer Festival: The strongest beer in the world is waiting for you!
The Moosburg Beer Festival is just around the corner! On June 13th and 14th, 2025, the Viehmarktplatz in Moosburg will be transformed into a true mecca for beer lovers. Organized by Jürgen Appel and his daughter Sabine, the fourth edition promises a unique experience around the “strongest conventionally brewed beer in the world”, the Schorschbock, which has an impressive 57 percent alcohol content and is waiting for the tasting glasses. The Bach flowers, which are associated with beer, have certainly conquered many hearts and are likely to arouse the curiosity of one or two visitors. Mercury reports that over 8,000 beer enthusiasts found their way to Moosburg last year and that a full city can be expected this year too.
In contrast to the last event, which was extended by one day, this year the focus is on the essentials. The adjacent Schäfflerhalle is only used for toilets. However, there are more food stalls on the program than before - even six food trucks offer a diverse culinary offering. About half of the cattle market square will be closed for the festival, while the other half will serve as a parking lot, making logistics much easier.
A festival for connoisseurs
Over 20 breweries will present their beers this weekend. In addition to the well-known names such as Ayinger, Flötzinger and Weihenstephaner, Guinness beer from the Moosburg pub Corner House is also served. The fine wines come to the table in special glasses from the breweries, whereby the sample for 0.2 and 0.3 liters as well as a “whistle” can be ordered for one euro. Payment is made in the modern way using chips, with a starter kit available for 20 euros. The Tz highlights that there are also non-alcoholic alternatives, wine spritzers and hop secco – an all-round great range!
The musical entertainment on both days of the festival creates a lively atmosphere. Mayor Josef Dollinger opens the festival on Friday at 5 p.m., while Radio Arabella ensures the right atmosphere. On Saturday from 3 p.m. the artists Dieter Meier and M3 will be at the start and will bring a breath of fresh air to the celebrations. The festival ends at 10:30 p.m. on both days.
A look at Germany
Did you know that the strongest beer, Schorschbock, has been brewed since 2011 and is one of the world's strongest beers? Charivari explains that German breweries are not only strong in high alcohol, but also stand for tradition and quality - the Weihenstephan monastery brewery is one of the oldest in the world.
The best summer conditions are forecast for the coming weekend. So, pack up your friends and get ready for an unforgettable beer weekend in Moosburg! The festival is a great opportunity to discover new beers and have fun - there's something there!
