A spectacular attack on the “Kuhnle” jewelry store on Königstrasse in Fürth has kept investigators on tenterhooks since December 2023. On December 22, 2023, shortly after 5 p.m., two unknown men entered the store and revealed their vile intentions. An employee was threatened with a pistol. She was sent to the ground with a brutal shove, while an accomplice smashed the display cases with a sledgehammer and stole pieces of jewelry. The perpetrators initially escaped on an e-scooter before presumably continuing on foot. The getaway vehicles were later seized on Engelhardstrasse and in a bush on Kutzerstrasse.
The Fürth police investigated the case intensively. After the attack was presented on the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved” on June 25, 2025, the investigative authorities received around 80 tips. But despite this input, the decisive clue to identifying the perpetrators has not yet been provided. The criminal police have published detailed descriptions of the two perpetrators. The first perpetrator is male, between 30 and 35 years old, around 1.75 m tall and has dark hair - possibly a wig. He was wearing dark-framed glasses, a mustache and goatee, a dark coat, light blue jeans and black shoes and gloves. In his hand he held a black stick umbrella. The second perpetrator is slightly younger, aged 25 to 30 and also around 1.75 m tall. He was wearing a hip-length dark jacket, dark pants and shoes as well as a dark fur hat and a white FFP2 mask and was carrying a shoulder bag.
In order to clarify the identity of the perpetrators, the police have offered a reward of 5,000 euros for crucial information that leads to the arrest of the robbers.
