Parent ABC in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: Strong support for fathers!

There's a lot going on in the world of early childhood in Garmisch-Partenkirchen! On June 27, 2025, the KoKi Early Childhood Coordination Center and the Family Support Department invite you to “Parents ABC”, a versatile educational program for parents with children aged 0 to 3 years. This valuable program not only provides exciting ideas for everyday life, but also offers support in financial matters, nutritional tips and opportunities to exchange ideas with other parents. As lra-gap.de reports, participants can choose individual topics from six remarkable modules that best suit their situation.

Particular attention is paid to the upcoming building blocks, which will be offered repeatedly in July 2025. For example, module 3 “Becoming a father, being a father” will take place online on Tuesday, July 8th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fathers of newborns up to 3 years old are warmly invited to discuss topics relating to the role as a father and the father-child bond. On Thursday, July 24th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., module 4 “Learning through play, fun, support” is on the program, which takes place at the Mittenwald family base. Here, parents of children aged 6 months to 3 years learn how important play is for development and get practical tips on suitable games and picture books. Support comes from the interdisciplinary early intervention center at the Hochried Clinic.

The importance of early childhood education

Early childhood education is not just a buzzword, but is increasingly recognized as an essential part of the education system. If this is underlined by an international framework, the results of the second UNESCO World Conference on Early Childhood Education in November 2022 in Tashkent show that the development of political strategies is becoming increasingly important. The conference brought together over 2,500 participants from around 150 countries and led to an important final document, the Tashkent Declaration, which deals with improving working conditions for educational professionals and anchoring peace education in early education approaches. These recommendations are highly relevant for countries like Germany in order to further advance early childhood education, as unesco.de emphasizes.

A look at local offers

There are also options on site to actively shape children's education. In Berlin, the Erika Mann elementary school offers a holiday program that is ideal for bridging periods without school. Here children not only have the opportunity to be looked after during the holidays, but also exciting activities await the little participants. Since the school holidays in the state of Berlin apply, parents should consider organizing alternative childcare options, especially between Christmas and New Year or after Ascension Day. A look at the offerings and the special “swimming” area teaching shows that here too, care is taken to ensure that every child develops a good knack for new adventures, as explained on erika-mann-grundschule.com.

Overall, it can be seen that in the region of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district and beyond, great efforts are being made to strengthen early childhood. Whether through local educational offerings or international initiatives, it is clear that education starts early and must be actively promoted!
