Sports shortage in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: Rescue failed-parents are concerned!

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Deutschland - The message from Garmisch-Partenkirchen has caused concern for many parents: the sports shortage in the former curling hall of the Olympic ice sports center failed. It is painful for the families who rely on the care of their children. According to a report by Merkur Partenkirchen (TSVP) no longer maintain the offer for financial reasons.

The sports shortage not only offered the children a lunch and creative handicrafts, but also support in homework and sports training. A total of 27 children were looked after, but despite the great commitment of Max Wasielewski and the parents, who started an initiative to rescue the hydropower, the financial burden became too high. The TSVP recorded a minus of around 260,000 euros, with the closure of the hoarding at least 60,000 euros.

The challenges of care

The monthly costs per child were between 280 and 300 euros. This is a large sum, especially when you consider that, according to the report, the community does not currently run a waiting list for after -school care places. The parents therefore face a dilemma: alternative care facilities are often in Partenkirchen and are not always easy to reach. Another problem is the lack of personnel, because the after -school care center in Partenkirchen has space for 75 children, an approval for 100, but could not be fully occupied due to the lack of specialist staff.

The community also has responsibility for the hall, which excludes a subletting to third parties. Christian Loth, the chairman of the TSVP, makes it clear: "The offer cannot be financed." The development did not stop in the kindergarten area either. Another group of 25 children will be opened in the coming school year, provided that the necessary staff will be found.
