Guntiafest in Günzburg: Party, parking and measures for 2025!
An exciting weekend is coming up in Günzburg! The now legendary Guntia Festival, which has been celebrated since 1977, takes place on June 28th and 29th. Lots of fun and entertainment await visitors when the city center becomes a big party zone for young and old. But before things really get started, residents and guests have to prepare for some important traffic restrictions.
From Saturday, June 28th, 7 a.m. to Monday, June 30th, 10 a.m. there will be a closure for vehicles in the old town area. A general parking ban in the festival area will also be imposed from Saturday at 6 a.m. However, residents and suppliers are still allowed to arrive at certain times until Saturday lunchtime: on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. A free parking space for residents at the Capuchin Wall is available from Saturday 4 p.m. to Monday 9 a.m.
Diverse program and attractions
The Guntiafest offers a colorful show program with an opening parade and a musical setting that has something for every taste. Children don't miss out either: attractions such as bouncy castles, “Hau-den-Lukas”, face painting and the popular Punch and Judy show promise lots of fun for the little ones. The festival times are on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The city administration recommends avoiding the event area from the corner of Bahnhofstrasse and Dillinger Strasse to avoid traffic problems. The Wilhelm-Lorenz-Weg in particular will be completely closed on both days. The Augsburger Straße/Sedanstraße intersection also has to expect a complete traffic standstill due to construction work.
