New café in Günzburg: Pühringer's era ends, Seiferling takes over!

An era is coming to an end in the small town of Günzburg. After 26 years, Cornelia Pühringer will close the doors of her café in the district hospital on December 23rd at 4 p.m. In an official press release, the clinic announced the end of this long-standing collaboration. Pühringer will stay in the café until January 5th, but it will remain closed in the meantime. On this day, the new tenant, Sofia Seiferling, will take over the business at 9 a.m.

Sofia Seiferling brings a wide range of gastronomic experience. A trained chef and already working in butcher shops, kiosks and party service, she is ideally prepared for the challenge in the hospital café. She is supported by two experienced employees, Luise Oed and Berta Weck, who have already worked at Pühringer's side. The new team will consist of a total of six people, with Seiferling wanting to focus on gently managing operations over the next few weeks.

A gentle transition

Big changes are not initially planned. The rooms are simply whitewashed and cleaned, and the range of goods remains unchanged. The opening hours of the café have also been set: from January 5th it will be open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends and public holidays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with no day off. A relaxed approach for guests and employees is important, especially after the challenging times that the catering industry has experienced in recent years. During the Corona pandemic, for example, Pühringer had to significantly shut down its operations and experienced a decline in sales and a decline in the team from 16 to 6 employees.

The corona pandemic has hit many businesses hard, as has the catering industry in general, which suffered massive drops in sales and business closures. Business owners had to adapt to new hygiene standards and develop a higher degree of flexibility and creativity in order to survive in the market. Dining out became less attractive as many people rediscovered cooking at home, while demand for takeaway options increased. Loud g-like-gastro The pandemic has not only changed the way restaurants are operated, but also increased guests' expectations of hygiene concepts and digital offerings.

Reopening in the district hospital

There is also a change coming in Krumbach. After extensive renovation, a 24-hour Rewe shop will be opened here to replace the café there, which was previously run by Daniela Langbauer. An opening date is currently being determined. These new concepts clearly show how the catering industry is adapting to the changing needs of guests, who are increasingly placing more value on convenience and speedy service.

The farewell to Cornelia Pühringer not only signals the end of an era in the café in Günzburg, but also the beginning of a new chapter under the leadership of Sofia Seiferling. While the catering industry continues to face challenges, the anticipation of new things remains at the forefront. Last but not least, a good hand for the future will also be the key to success.
