Bavarian Triathlon: New course for top sport and inclusion!

On November 10, 2025, Ingolstadt presented itself as an important hub for the Bavarian triathlon. Numerous prominent guests were present at this year's Association Day of the Bavarian Triathlon Association (BTV), including Jörg Ammon, the President of the BLSV, and Prof. Dr. Martin Engelhardt, President of the DTU. The event focused on setting the course for the future of sport in Bavaria and addressed current challenges and opportunities. Triathlon Germany reports.

Jörg Ammon emphasized how important the Olympic bid and attractive events are for the development of sport. These events not only promote top-class sport, but also strengthen volunteerism and club development as well as the sports infrastructure in the region. Prof. Engelhardt agreed with this idea and emphasized the health relevance of sport for children and young people. He called for sport to be better integrated into the everyday lives of the young generation and for the framework conditions for exercise and education to be optimized.

Elections and honors

A central topic of the association conference was the regular election of the presidium. The previous board was confirmed with an overwhelming majority for another four years. Michaela Bock was also able to unanimously prevail as the new South Rules Representative after Stefan Langer no longer ran for re-election. Langer, who was recognized for his many years of valuable work, will remain with the association as a member of the association court and referee.

BTV President Gerd Rucker explained what priorities should be set in the coming legislative period: digital structures, the public presence of the Bavarian triathlon and the promotion of sustainability, inclusion and openness. “We want to be a reliable partner for our clubs and organizers and make sport accessible to all age groups,” he explained.

A look at the theme day

The association day also included an exciting theme day that offered workshops, discussion groups and specialist forums on sustainable event planning, modern communication channels and training tips. The meetings between organizers and judges were well attended and enabled a lively exchange about current developments in competition operations. This exchange is seen as crucial for the further development of triathlon in Bavaria.

The BLSV states that such events not only contribute to networking, but also provide numerous opportunities to learn from others' experiences. This was also confirmed by President Rucker, who drew a positive conclusion from the day of the event and praised the strong basis of the Bavarian triathlon.

The event in Ingolstadt showed once again that the Bavarian triathlon is on the right track. The numerous people present who are committed to the further development of the sport are a strong sign that the region is tackling the challenges of the future with a good hand.
