SpVgg Bayreuth brings Quirin and Dehler – extensions for Stefandl and home!

SpVgg Bayreuth is currently delighting its fans with a series of positive news and an impressive performance on the pitch. Lukas Quirin moves from FC 08 Homburg to Bayreuth's central midfield and brings a breath of fresh air into the action. The 25-year-old player, who played 39 competitive games last season, previously played for 1. FC Saarbrücken and 1. FSV Mainz 05 II. His move, which was accompanied by an intensive exchange with those responsible at SpVgg Bayreuth, raises hopes of a successful career at the new club. Nicole Kalemba, Bayreuth's managing director, highlights Quirin's game intelligence and overview as crucial factors that make the player a valuable reinforcement.

In addition, the young goalkeeper Maurice Dehler strengthens the team. At just 21 years old, Dehler comes from Dillingen and is also moving from FC Ingolstadt 04, where he has been active since the U17s. He completed his training at the FC Bayern Campus, which gives him a solid foundation for the challenges ahead at Bayreuth. Head coach Lukas Kling sees Dehler as a highly capable goalkeeper and is optimistic that he will significantly strengthen Bayreuth's defense.

Important contract extensions

It seems that the calm within the team is also a critical factor for sporting success. Felix Heim and Marco Stefandl have extended their contracts for several years. Heim, who has been in the team since July 2024, brings pace, wit and goal threat, while Stefandl has established himself as a constant. Coaches Kling and Kalemba are pleased about these extensions, which are primarily intended to bring continuity and stability to the team. A strong team structure is particularly important at this phase of the season.

Current situation in the regional league

The results on the pitch speak for themselves: SpVgg Bayreuth hasn't lost in ten games. Next Saturday there is an important game against SpVgg Ansbach, which will take place at 2 p.m. in the Xaver-Bertsch-Sportpark. In the last three away games, Bayreuth collected three draws, which makes the role of the next match even more crucial. In order to keep pace with FC Schweinfurt 05 in the title race for first place, a win against Ansbach is a must. The coach also has to do without some injured players, including Niklas Reutelhuber, Christoph Fenninger and Nicolas Andermatt.

With the tailwind of the current transfers and the team spirit of the players, the Bayreuthers hope to extend their positive series and take the next steps in the Bavarian Regional League. It is clear that the next away games against Buchbach, Bamberg and Schweinfurt as well as the upcoming home games against the reserve teams from Nuremberg and Munich offer challenges that need to be overcome. The team is optimistic about the future and is doing everything in its power not to fall behind in the fight for the top of the table.
