Women's circle visits the only turtle sanctuary in Hheheim!

Hoheim, Deutschland - The fascination for turtles brings together more and more people. Recently, the women's group of the Friedenskirche made a special excursion to the turtle catchment station in Hoheheim, one of only two such facilities in Bavaria. The women had the opportunity to find out about the work of the committed association, which is devoted to the protection and care of the fascinating reptiles. According to [Mainpost] (https://www.mainpost.de/kitzingen/hoheim-frauenkreis-frauenkirche-auf-kundung-110006514), specialist Sandra Malguth led the group through the station and told moving stories about the turtles and the challenges that employees have to master every day.

On this impressive day, the participants were able to get to know various turtle species and learned from action -packed rescue stories. For example, about four turtles were delivered in a box by parcel service, while others, like two exposed specimens, were discovered at the commuter parking lot next to the A7 in Kitzingen. It was tragic that one of the two abandoned animals did not survive. However, there was good news for Nala, a spur turtle that was saved from a crowded ice cream parlor and can now lead a species -appropriate life in the reception center. Nala finds enough space in Hoheim to move and thrive.

The important role of the catch stations

STACE STATIONS like those in Hoheheim are indispensable for the protection of turtles and other exotic animals. They work with high responsibility because they are recognized as an animal shelter in accordance with Section 11 TSchG and must comply with strict requirements in the areas of quarantine, animal welfare and species -appropriate attitude. The main task is to convey the animals into a new home and at the same time provide information about species -appropriate attitude. This was reported by the Tortzungs Protection Interest Community, which networked numerous starting stations in Germany and also indicates the important support through donations and sponsorships.

Especially in the Hunsrück area, many turtle lovers are active that help keepers conveying their animals. The volunteers are ready, for example to inform the need for Cites certificates and to provide support in submitting animals. In addition, starting stations are often the last option for turtle -friendly animals that can no longer remain in their original home to find a suitable place. If no new owners can be found, the stations often also absorb animals from confiscations or suspensions, which reinforces their importance. You can also learn more about this on pages such as the Land tortoises of Hunsrück.

The informative day at the women's group was rounded off by lively conversations over coffee and cake, where the participants exchanged their impressions and reflected on what they have experienced. Such a trip shows how important and enriching it is to work for the protection of our environment and its residents.
