New York Fashion Week: New dates set for fall/winter 2026!
When it comes to fashion, it's all about timing and preparation. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has now announced the dates for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Fall/Winter 2026: The event will take place from Wednesday, February 11th to Monday, February 16th, 2026. In a statement, Joseph Maglieri, director of Fashion Week initiatives, said the schedule adjustment is aimed at better aligning NYFW with fashion weeks in London, Milan and Paris. In addition, important holidays and cultural events in the USA were taken into account.
The one-week delay gives design teams the valuable time they need to prepare. This decision follows the trend already followed by NYFW in September 2025, which also began a week later. This is intended to ensure a coherent process in the international fashion calendar. Applications for participation in the official NYFW calendar can also be submitted from the beginning of November 2025, with the final schedule of dates expected to be published in January 2026. Fashion Network reports that this is an exciting time for designers and fashion enthusiasts alike.
A look back at NYFW 2023
New York Fashion Week just took place from September 8th to 13th, 2023 and opened “Fashion Month” with a spectacular program. A total of 68 shows took place where renowned designers presented their latest collections. The highlights included Ralph Lauren's comeback after four years and Peter Do's debut collection as creative director at Helmut Lang. Bridget summarizes that some clearly identified trends can be expected for the spring/summer 2024 season, which also provide an outlook on the upcoming collections.
Trends of the coming season
The trend-setting features from last Fashion Week show that cropped blazers, corsets, floral prints and deep V-necks are on the rise. These styles deliver an exciting mix of traditional and modern, accommodating both bold and soft fashion statements.
A particular focus was on:
With all these developments in the fashion calendar, 2024 is already a year full of excitement and change. Many established and emerging designers are expected to make their mark on international fashion events, including Paris Fashion Week and Berlin Fashion Week. The All Offers Platform highlights that more than 50% of Generation Z show a strong interest in such events, which underlines the importance of these events for the future fashion players.
The fashion world is on the move, and who knows what creative ideas will surprise us at the upcoming events. Stay tuned!
