Big music night: Carmina Burana” celebrates 25 years of choir history in Miesbach!
The region's musical world is preparing for an unforgettable event! On October 25, 2025, a highly anticipated concert will take place in the Waitzinger Keller in Miesbach: the performance of “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff. The evening promises not only musical highlights, but also a great communal experience for the entire family.
The concert starts at 6 p.m. and there are some top-class performers on stage. Under the overall direction of Benedikt Meurers - an experienced church musician from the Parish of the Assumption - the choir “cantica nova Holzkirchen”, which consists of over 40 voices, will captivate the audience with its a cappella singing. Together with the parish children's choir, an impressive sound image will be created that is sure to enchant the listeners. But the soloists will also give their best: Jasmin Binde, Lukas Siebert and Linus Mödl will shine as vocal soloists.
A celebration of music and song
The concert also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the cantica nova choir. This long tradition has shaped the ensemble with a lot of heart and passion. Immediately after the opening with the majestic choral piece “O Fortuna”, the audience can be transported into another world of sound. The instrumental accompaniment is provided by talented musicians, including the excellent pianists Jonathan Frey and Johannes Skudlik on the grand piano. The percussion will be performed by a still unknown person and will certainly give the ensemble the necessary impetus.
For everyone who can't get enough of good music on October 25th, there will be a repeat of the concert on October 26th at 6 p.m. in the St. Josef Church in Holzkirchen. But that's not all! From 7:30 p.m. the evening will be enriched with further musical highlights:
- Konzert zum Mitsingen mit den Rainbow Gospel Voices unter der Leitung von Andrea Wehrmann
- Gitarrist Perry Schack mit seinem Programm „Alhambra“, das Werke von Albeniz, Granados, Tarrega und Paganini umfasst
- Jazz-Duo Julian Hesse und Luca Zambito am Klavier und an der Trompete
- Harfenistin Helena Glockner und Saxophonist Franz Jetzinger
- Die Band KREUZBERG mit einer Mischung aus Folk, Jazz, Klezmer und Pop-Songs
A look beyond the borders
But while Miesbach is under the banner of “Carmina Burana”, the 99th Munich Bach Festival is taking place in the nearby area at the same time, which is a real highlight of the classical music scene. Here, under the motto of the participatory concept, various orchestras and ensembles perform to celebrate the works of Johann Sebastian Bach together. Munich shines with musical diversity that offers something for every music lover and also illustrates the pertinence of the Austrian music scene.
In this sense, October is a truly festive month for all music enthusiasts in the region - from the powerful sounds of “Carmina Burana” in Miesbach to the moving performances at the Bach Festival. Don't miss out on these musical treats!
We look forward to welcoming you to these special events. For more information, see the comprehensive reports from Cultural vision, Miesbach Tourism and Orff Center.
