Sportbund Rosenheim suffers debacle: 0:8 against Miesbach!
What a sobering afternoon for the Rosenheim Sports Association (SBR)! On August 10, 2025 there was a bitter defeat against SV Miesbach on home turf, which was clearly 0:8. This slap represents a nasty setback for the young and up-and-coming team in the current season. After three defeats, the SBR is at the bottom of the table East District League.
From the first minute, SV Miesbach showed that they were serious. Maximilian Wiedmann opened the scoring list in the 40th second with a lightning-fast goal. The Iron Men didn't let that stop them and increased their lead to 3-0 in the first half thanks to Josef Sontheim (23rd minute) and Sean Erten (44th minute). This lead gave Miesbach the necessary momentum to keep the reins in the second half.
Dominance of the Miesbachers
After the break, the Miesbachers didn't let up and continued their scoring run. In the 58th minute it was Erten who increased the lead to 4-0, followed by Sontheim, who scored three times in the 63rd, 72nd and 76th minutes. The final result of 8-0 was finally sealed by Wiedmann in the 80th minute. Coach Hans-Werner Grünwald was visibly satisfied with his team's performance after the game. With 100 spectators on the sidelines, you could feel the excitement and cheers of every Miesbacher goal, while the Rosenheim spectators were left disappointed.
SV Miesbach's line-up was equally remarkable and was organized by Wiesböck in goal, supported by Städter, Veit, Gerr and Matschiner in defense. Equally important was the offensive strength, which was characterized by the midfield and the strikers Sontheim, Wiedmann and Erten. With current form, it looks like Miesbach has a good knack for the challenges ahead.
A look at the league
The East District League has developed excitingly this season. It is now important for the SBR to learn from this defeat and get back up again. There were interesting results in other games on matchday 20. TuS Raubling lost to FC Töging 2:3, while the match between ESV Freilassing and FC Moosinning ended - no goal, but at least 0:0. The SBR had already lost 0-2 against TSV Dorfen and now faces a steep path to get out of the bottom of the table. Their next game will be crucial to show they can turn the corner.
The fans and the team hope that the turnaround can be heralded in the next game against Ampfing on Friday. As the current situation shows, there is simply no such thing as a given in football and every goal counts! Mercury and Rosenheim24 have impressively summarized the events and results of this exciting match day.
