Robbery in Tegernsee: 24-year-old attacked and robbed by a gang!
A recent attack in Tegernsee caused concern. On July 20, 2025, a 24-year-old man from northern Germany was attacked and robbed by three to four unknown people while traveling on Schwaighofstrasse. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. and ended with the man lying unconscious on the ground and several personal items and valuables missing. The perpetrators were described as men around 1.80 meters tall, two of whom were dressed in traditional costumes and one in a checked hooded shirt. Fortunately, the injured person was not seriously injured and did not require hospital treatment. Merkur reported that the criminal police in Miesbach have taken over the investigation and are asking for information from witnesses.
For the police, this incident is not the only worrying incident in the region. On June 2, 2025, there was a robbery at a restaurant on Bahnhofstrasse, where two masked perpetrators demanded money while displaying a firearm. However, they fled without taking anything, while one employee was slightly injured, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution and released that same evening. Here too, the Bavarian Police is asking for information about suspicious perceptions, especially in the area of Bahnhofstrasse.
Rising crime figures in view
These incidents occur against the background of increasing crime figures in Germany. In 2022, around 5.63 million crimes were recorded, including over 38,000 robberies. Theft, which involves the violent taking of property, has also increased and many people feel unsafe as a result. The most recently published statistics show an increase in theft crimes, which does not go unnoticed, even in cities like Tegernsee, where the clearance rate for robbery crimes is relatively high at almost 60 percent. Statista points out that the increase can be observed primarily in thefts of bicycles and inside/outside motor vehicles.
In this context, the criminal police are required to take preventive measures. Even if the police are already active, the discussion about security in our region shows that there is still a need for action. The public is asked to be vigilant and report any suspicious observations to collectively promote a safe environment. The statistics also show that residential burglaries accounted for over 23,500 cases in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2022.
The current incidents show that the population should not be lulled into security. It remains to be hoped that through the police investigation and the attention of the citizens, Tegernsee will once again become a safe place where you can go for a carefree walk.
