Lions Holiday Games 2025: Climbing fun for children from Miltenberg!

What an exciting adventure 35 children from Miltenberg, Amorbach and the surrounding area had in the first week of August! On Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, an OSWALD bus took us to the Wald-Michelbach climbing forest. Despite the changeable weather, the sky remained dry and the little climbers were able to enjoy the numerous courses to the fullest. They were accompanied by a dedicated team, including Anna Oswald, Frederike Knapp and other helpers, who ensured that the children lacked nothing. My-news.de

For refreshment there were cool drinks, sweets and ice cream, ideal for the little adventurers between climbing tours. The day was not only injury-free, but was also characterized by a good atmosphere - a successful campaign by the Amorbach-Miltenberg Lions Club!

Climbing and bouldering activities in the region

But that wasn't all! On Thursday, August 7th, nine children and young people gathered at the OSWALD bouldering wall. Under the guidance of Marvin Lebold and Lion Matthies, there were numerous exciting climbing routes to discover. Here too, the event crew provided cool refreshments and a safe environment, which is why no injuries occurred at this event. Such activities not only provide enjoyment but also promote a sense of community among young people.

The Lions Club is active all year round and is dedicated to supporting children and young people in the region. These include music and sports projects as well as reading support programs that aim to help socially disadvantaged families. The club's projects are designed to give young people new opportunities and give them positive experiences.

A view of the Vulkanpark climbing forest

Back to the climbing week: The Wald-Michelbach climbing forest is not the only place for climbing enthusiasts in the region. Rhineland-Palatinate is home to the Vulkanpark climbing forest, which offers something for every age group with its multitude of 80 obstacles and cable cars on 9 different courses. Here children, young people and families can take on challenges of various levels of difficulty - from very easy to very difficult. A modern “Smart Belay” safety system also guarantees easy and safe use of the course. Climbing park.guide

The entrance fee for an adult is 24 euros, and the volcano park is conveniently located on the B258 between Mayen and Kürrenberg. It is therefore an excellent address for excursions, be it for children's birthdays, school classes or company events.

The Lions Club would like to thank all supporters, helpers and sponsors who make such wonderful experiences possible for the region's youngest children. It is therefore to be hoped that numerous children and young people will be able to take advantage of the offers in the region in the future to experience community and make new friends.
