Mühldorfer Volksfest 2025: Festival beer toast and huge celebrations!
On Friday, September 1st, 2025, the traditional folk festival was inaugurated in Mühldorf with a spectacular start. At exactly 6:37 p.m., Mayor Michael Hetzl tapped the first keg of festival beer in the Spaten festival tent. At his side were the folk festival queen Simona Kneißl as well as the folk festival organizer Walter Gruber, numerous festival hosts and guests of honor who shared the anticipation of the coming days. Hetzl emphasized the preparations of everyone involved and was looking forward to a diverse festival that is expected to attract 250,000 visitors this year. How OVB Online reported, the celebrations started at 4:30 p.m. with a rousing concert by the Altmühldorf brass band and the Mühldorf town band.
The highlight of the evening was the large folk festival procession that moved into the city around 6 p.m. Hundreds of spectators enthusiastically applauded the festively decorated carriages and carriages as they enjoyed their supply of free beer until the end of the evening. The joy and sense of community were clearly noticeable, which was also emphasized by Walter Gruber, who confirmed during the reception in the festival tent that there had been no security-related incidents to date.
Colorful program for the entire family
The Mühldorfer Volksfest is known for its diverse program, and this year there are also numerous themed days on the agenda. It starts on the first Sunday with Family Day, followed by Senior Citizens' Day on Monday and District Day on Tuesday. On Wednesday the focus is particularly on children and young people, while Thursday is dedicated to agriculture and an afternoon for people with disabilities. The crowning conclusion of the week is the Day of Companies and Clubs on Friday, followed by the Day of Crafts on the second Saturday. An international rifle and traditional costume parade is also expected on the second Sunday, which will conclude the festival with a spectacular musical fireworks display.
Speaking of children: The popular Volksfest Children's Day took place on August 30, 2023, where Mayor Hetzl and Volksfest Queen Alicia Welz took happy photos with the little ones. After many days of rain, the weather was finally dry and pleased the visitors who crowded the festival grounds in droves. A colorful hustle and bustle of stalls and rides ensured countless smiling faces, and colorful balloons were distributed to the children by city councilors and department heads. Innsalzach24 reported on this great atmosphere, which made the folk festival an unforgettable experience.
