Munich celebrates: New Casa” becomes a center for skate action and culture!
On July 2nd, 2025 the time had finally come: the official starting signal for the “Casa” was given in Munich. The newest action sports center that not only makes skaters' hearts beat faster, but is also a real benefit for young people. Mayor Dieter Reiter and other high-profile guests, including sports officer Florian Kraus and construction officer Dr.-Ing. Jeanne-Marie Ehbauer, were there at the ceremonial opening and were able to see for themselves the great enthusiasm. The event was a spectacle of thrilling skater tricks, hip-hop beats and an impressive breakdance performance.
“Casa” stands for “Centre for Applied Skateboard Arts” and is committed to promoting the urban lifestyle. The sporting center extends over 1,000 square meters in a former factory hall on Erna-Eckstein-Straße in Pasing and offers a modern indoor street park for skateboarders and BMX fans. With concrete blocks, ramps and many other street elements, it delights not only professionals but also beginners.
A varied offer for everyone
The “Casa” has set itself high goals: It should not only be a place for sport, but also for culture and community. “Open sessions” start from just 5 euros for three hours and courses for different skill levels are offered on weekends, which appeal to a broader target group in cooperation with schools. To accommodate the creative community, projectors and screens are also available for trick edits and video premieres. A cozy lounge area and a summery roof terrace invite you to linger.
Managing director Adrien Hannart emphasizes that excellent cooperation was achieved with a commitment of around 12 million euros from the Munich city administration. The financing included not only the construction but also the renovation of the facilities. The clubs High Five, Skateboarding Munich and Tretlager actively implemented the project.
Cultural events and future plans
The “Casa” will also serve as a cultural venue, with a varied program of events, exhibitions and concerts. This room is an important meeting place, especially for young people, where they can do sports together and express themselves creatively. While the indoor facilities are already very well received, the outdoor facilities, which include a streetball court, slackline area, lawns and table tennis tables, will be completed by summer 2025.
In the long term, further expansion plans are in the pipeline, which should include bowls, halfpipes and parkour elements. “Casa” not only stands for action, but also for an intensive examination of skateboard and BMX culture.
In summary, it can be said that the “Casa” has created a new meeting point for action sports enthusiasts and those interested in culture, which invites both young and old to come together. It seems as if the people of Munich have backed the right horse here, and the city is gaining more than just a skating hall - it is investing in community and sporting cooperation.
